Deep Conversation

I have these wonderful conversations with Desi everyday when we are riding home. He gives me the low down on what he did at daycare, we talk about cars, beautiful sunny days, and anything else that we care to talk about. He knows how to worry me, but I couldn't see myself without my little back seat talker. Take a look at the vid. I had to record baby boy because he was very entertaining. Check it out:

I so cherish these moments! And I am so glad that I can catch it all on video. Unfortunately, it may be used as black mail when Desi gets older and he's trying to woo the ladies! LOL!

Nigh Night!

Poop Catcher

Hello!! I've been gone for a while, but for good reason. I was studying for my state exam for my insurance license. I passed! I am now licensed to write and sell auto and home policies. Woo hoo! So I got my life back. Hubby was so great during this time. He took care of everything and supported me tremendously. Now, Desi was supportive as well. He would join in on my studies. "Want to study with chew mommy," he would say. When I passed, he said "Good job mommy! So proud of you!" (of course daddy coached him). It just warmed my heart. Anyway,  I have to share this hilarious story with you all. One night, earlier last week, we are trying to get Desi to poop in the toilet.  He just refused to sit his little butt down on the seat. We knew he had to poop, so we really wanted him to get on the toilet. My husband was speaking with his mother on the phone and she heard the commotion. She suggested that we just let him go pamperless for the night before going to bed. T...

Worried Father

The other day, Desi, my husband and myself were at my cousin's house visiting her and her two beautiful baby girls. Of course, all of the toys there were girly toys. Okay, so you get where I'm going with this right? The grown ups were talking in the kitchen when, all of a sudden, Desi runs in holding a Dora doll and a barbie doll. My poor husband was visibly horrified by the scene. I gave him that reassuring look and when Desi left, I said, "honey, it's okay. He doesn't know any different." Chris shook his head and disapprovingly said, "No, honey, those are dolls. He's playing with dolls."  My cousin and I just laughed. At Desi's age, a little boy playing with "girlie" toys is not really an issue. They are attracted to the colors. Also, look at the circumstances, he was in a house full of chicks. At home, he is all into his cars, airplanes and trains. Desi is fine and so are all the other little boys in the world that may be attra...

Who Are You My Beloved?

After watching a series of Iyanla Fix My Life episodes I felt compelled to write a post about who I am as a woman. Have I truly explored that question? Who is Aisha? I have all these parts that make up the whole but what is the whole? Let's break it down by the parts first. A part of me is: 1. A wife 2. A mom 3. A daughter 4. A sister These positions in life add to who I am. Now WHO AM I at my core? Here is what I am discovering: I am a woman who has a great deal of love and respect for Jehovah God. This is the biggest part of who I am. How I move in life, whether it be spiritually,  physically,  emotionally or mentally, is wrapped up in my relationship with Jehovah. I am a woman who cares about the well being of others and is moved to help where necessary. I do not like to be overbearing and I am very sensitive to others feelings. I am observant and intuitive. At times I can be proactive and at other times I can be reactive and I am okay with that. I am a woman that lo...
