The Warmth of the Snow

It was a cold and snowy Thursday morning. My icy cold hands fought to get Desi buckled up in his car seat. I gave him a kiss and headed over to my driver's side. I peered across the street and spotted this man walking his dog. I thought to myself, "He's pretty sexy." This overwhelming feeling comes over me and I revert to my school girlish ways. He approaches me with the warmest smile and I soon didn't feel so cold anymore. I am taken into his masculine arms and I am given a gentle kiss. We hold each other as the snow falls all around us. We gaze into each others eyes as we dance to "Down by the Bay" (songs in kid minor). LOL!  That moment with my husband meant so much. It was a rush rush kind of morning and to just take the time to embrace each other helps you to continue to remember the love you have for the one that was there before your child. Once you have a child, life tends to revolve around that little person. However, it is so important for t

Fishing for Goldfish

Aside from pizza, Desi's favorite food is goldfish. He wakes up asking for these little orange things everyday. He has  to have some goldfish. Oh and dare we run out of the little fish. Desi will throw a fit! He'll say, "No, store mommy [daddy] store! Get da go fish!" LOL! He is so demanding. He needs a job! Chris decided to make a little trail mix for Desi. He mixed some Honey Nut Cheerios, Cheez-Its, and Goldfish (interesting combo) in a bag. Desi loves the little mix. Anyway, yesterday, Desi and I were on our way home. He had his little stash in his lap and was munching away. All of a sudden, he starts whining about the goldfish being gone. I knew there were some in there. I told him he had to look for them. He says, " No mommy! Do it, get da go fish! Peas mommy!" He sounded so panicked--as if his whole world was going to crumble if he didn't get these fish. Because I want him to learn some independence, I insisted that he look harder. He really wan

Something Random

Must clean house! If ya'll could see my place right now, you would probably slap me! It has been a crazy week. My husband and I have been getting ready for this event that we were dancing/singing in (he danced and I sang), so we were in and out of the house all week. Desi is the coolest because he hung tough with us through it all. But now even he will say, dirty mommy...clean up (as he nods to gain my approval of his comment). I wish I had a maid and a cook because cooking and cleaning are the two things that I do the most at home. Such wishful thinking will get me nowhere! LOL! Anyway, Desi helps in his own little way. He  loves to sweep and put his little dishes away. He has also become the little chef. He loves helping with the PBJ's. He will ask me, "Doing mommy?" and I will say (for example), "Oh, mommy's just putting the dishes away." Desi will nod his head and say, "help?" I love it! I just hope that he will continue to offer his help

Grown Baby

My baby is going to be 2 tomorrow! If only he could have been born a little later in the month, that would give me a little more time to prepare myself. LOL! Then again, I don't think I will ever be prepared to see my baby grow up. Call me a sap, but that's how it is. Don't get me wrong, I am happy about his growth...it's just bittersweet. I was having a conversation with one of my friends tonight. She is a mother of two. She asked me if my husband and I were planning on having another. I expressed that it has been a thought and I have REALLY been thinking about. I just don't think we're ready right now though. I would like for us to have a few more bills paid off and have my job situation figured out and get back to my pre-pregnancy weight ( I don't want to add more weight on top of what I am trying to lose. She basically said that she didn't think she was ready for her second, but she said that she is thankful because her oldest has someone to lean on

Lick Lick ICK!!!

I swear Desmond does something totally new and out the ordinary every week! Desi and I get home from a long day at daycare and work. We get settled in and wait for Daddy to get home. This is normal. It starts to get strange when Desi starts licking our glass door! What?! Where did this come from? He then proceeds to run into the living room. He gets his step stool and pushes it up to the TV stand and begins to lick the TV. "Desi! What are you doing? Stop!" I shout out, but I can't hold back the laughter. He says, "lickin da Tee Wee Mommy!" I am cracking up at this point. "Desi, don't lick that TV! It's dirty!" I say through my laughter.  "No Mommy! Tee Wee!" This boy is going to be 2 next Monday (6 years old according to him). I guess this is apart of that world. I have no clue! LOL! My child is too funny.  What weird and interesting things have your children done? I can't wait to hear from the Motherhood! Night Night

Random Vids and Pics

I missed you all so! I have been away for a little bit. Take a look at these videos to catch up! So...yeah, my video came out sideways. Anyway, at least you can hear what I'm saying. LOL! I talk about Desi getting on (and staying) on that potty train!!! I talk about some other random things as well. I did this video so early in the morning, but that's usually when my mind starts to wander. LOL! I have such a long drive to work, what else can I do? I just thought that I would throw something funny in here. Desi has a habit of hiding things...Yes, that's one of our glasses in the freezer! LOL! Night Night!
